![]() Through some trial and error testing all the plugins I could demo, the following 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos speaker test project in Davinci Resolve shows a crude A/B comparison between the real Dolby Atmos Binaural Render. Even though you can set the binaural render mode to near, mid, far and off to come through to the ADM master file's metadata when a user will playback binaurally, it isn't possible to monitor this when mixing and I got fed up not being able to work on headphones and also as a windows user, the only option would be to run a full several £K Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite renderer on a second computer, which isn't my idea of portable. As you may know, it's not possible to monitor Dolby Atmos binaurally in Davinci Resolve, or in fact most DAWs like you can in Dolby Atmos Production or Mastering Suite, because for some reason the Dolby Atmos Binaural Renderer is never included to 3rd parties. I've been working on a satisfactory Dolby Atmos binaural monitoring solution for a couple of days.
